Heaven in the Hamptons

It would only make sense to have the perfect newlywed couple own a home with bones this good. Built in 1990, this 4,140 square foot Amagansett home on 1.6 acres of green fescue needed a generous makeover to complement its city-fleeing new owners.

Arjun is a software entrepreneur who builds and scales companies, and loves cheering on his beloved sports teams. As a new dad, he makes carving out time for his family his top priority.

His wife, Eli, is a dream in herself as she lives for cooking, hosting, and caring for others. Moving to NYC after graduating college, her tenacity rose as she established her career in the luxury boutique hotel industry. Throughout the renovation process, she discovered her love for interiors, which prompted her to enroll in courses to obtain a certificate in interior design. Now as the mother of an infant, her first project will be tweaking one of the bedrooms for their first son, Teddy.

When deciding on the designer, there was no question hiring Eli’s late mother’s best friend and former boss, Rene Wirth of Wirth Design Group. Rene has watched Eli grow into the lovely woman she is today and has a tremendous sense for Eli’s taste, not to mention, the large space they hold in each other’s heart. The unforgettable first day on the job site was in January of 2021. Rushing to beat daylight and measure every inch of the home, Rene and Eli shared a special moment as they realized Eli was Kathy, her late mother. They ended up in a puddle of tears and hugs trying to pull it together and stay focused.

This house managed to be completed, construction and furniture, within less than a year with not one item arriving with even a scratch.  Unheard of even in the best of times, never mind a pandemic.  There is no doubt we had an angel among us.  Every floor was replaced or refinished, rooms were rearranged, bathrooms were gutted, lots of lots of white paint and we accomplished exactly what they were looking for…a home you walk into and feel like you are wrapped in love and comfort.

Gutting the home down to the bones was a special experience for everyone. Rene, bringing a familiar touch of a bonus mother and designer, plus the lovebirds creating their own nest for themselves, their family and friends. Every detail matters and serves a meaningful purpose. It was a meticulous process as to not take away the timeless character of the home but also bring in an updated coastal casual feel. The exposed brick, beamed ceilings, and gourmet kitchen were all elements we did not want to stray away from and had to be taken into consideration when curating the perfect design.

From bedrooms dedicated to family members, multiple bonus rooms for entertaining, a grand backyard with a modern gunite pool, to a cozy sunroom to enjoy coffee in the morning, this home is more than just a summer getaway. The architecture, the design, and the love put into the process combined, this Amagansett home has become a part of their everyday routine and houses the future of the Sirrah family.
